    Yes, i know, that phrase is beginning to be a little worn out. What Would Jesus Do?

    Practice the Presence of Christ

    This is something i read just the other day, "What strengh we would have, not only during days of testing and suffering, if we trained for life with Christ walking alongside us."
    It's something to think about, what would we do differently, or not do, if Jesus was right beside us.
    Of course He really is, because He promises to never leave us.
    All for Jesus, all for Jesus;
    All my being's ransomed powers;
    All my thoughts and all my doings,
    All my days and all my hours;

    God's Love in Christ Jesus
    Romans 8:31-39
    So what should we say about this? If God
    is with us, no one can defeat us. He did not
    spare His own Son but gave Him for us all.

    So, with Jesus, God will surely give us all things.
    Who can accuse the people God has chosen?
    No one, because God is the One who makes
    them right.
    Who can say God's people are guilty? No one,
    because Christ Jesus died, but He was also
    raised from the dead, and now He is on God's
    right side, begging God for us. (wow)

    Can anything separate us from the love Christ has
    for us? Can troubles or problems or sufferings
    or hunger or nakedness or danger or violent death?

    As it is written in the Scriptures;
    "For You we are in danger of death all the time.
    People think we are worth no more than
    sheep to be killed."

    But in all these things we(I) have full victory
    through God who showed His love for us. (me)
    Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life,
    nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing
    above (me) us, nothing below (me)us, nor anything else
    in the whole world will ever be able to separte
    (me, your name) us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    What would happen in our spirits (hearts)if we read this and repeated this last portion everyday, inserting our own names in there?

    Any one game to try it for say....a week, a month????

    God Bless

    The Word, you are life to my bones.

    Don't worry about actually trying to memorize it blue, i think if you read something everyday, it gets in there some how.

    I never have been great at memorization, even tho i think it's good for us. Sometime the Holy Spirit will just pop something up in my head that i've read.

    I know it has to be by the spirit, cause i would never thought of it on my own!!LOL

    I would like to encourage you both to confess it out loud. I think there is power in that, we are telling it to our own ears.

    I found this scripture
    Gal. 3:2 says we received the spirit, because we ~heard~ the good news and beleived it. first we had to hear it!

    So then faith comes by hearing,and hearing by the word of God.
    Good Day,
    God Bless

    I recently bought a new transcription, it's a new one,
    called, New Century Version,

    I've really enjoyed it, A bunch of scholars went back to the original greek, and hebrew and tried to put it into modern language without losing the meaning.

    I also us the New Kings James, and when i was first saved i went out and bought a nice leather bound bible, that's the, New American Standard.

    I alway end up going back to that one, because i'm so use to it. But like jumping back and forth between the three.

    A while ago i had become very stale and ho-um about my bible, My first one the NAS is so battered and marked up, i didn't feel like using it, and felt like nothing was new in it anymore cause everywhere it was underlined.

    So i went and bought my NCV and really like it. It's not watered down like some translation, but so easy to read.

    It also got me back into my old bible, cause i'm always checking back and comparing.
    Most of what i post comes from the NAS, or the NCV.

    I would like to read this everyday; whether I memorize it or not and my memory isn't that great right now but this will help, I'm sure.

    God Bless You,

    I know what you mean, when we passed confirmation,we were all given a copy of the, Good News, bible.

    It's like the one you describe, it drives me nuts!!I don't even know where that bible is anymore. LOL

    It's so watered down, i just felt like there was no meaning anymore, the meat was gone.

    Thank you, morningsonshine, for the welcome. I decided that I was going to visit here, first, each time I signed on to the board and do some reading.

    God Bless You,
