Today the most important thing to do is to pray.

Some things occur automatically and are vital to life. You do them without even thinking about them. You need not stop each moment to remind your heart to beat, to take a breath or to sustain your blood pressure. These automatic life functions have been programmed by God. They are not optional for life but rather are vital to life. He designed you so that many, many things occur naturally within your body without you needing to even think about them.

Prayer is the fourth vital function for sustaining your life. Your vital life functions include heartbeat, breathing, blood pressure, and prayer. Prayer is not optional! You were created to pray. Not just for yourself but for others. Prayer should be as natural to you as breathing because prayer is just as important. That is why you will hear it described as a "prayer life". So, let's do a vital signs check. Since you are reading this I will assume that you are breathing, your heart is beating, and your blood pressure is within acceptable limits. The one thing I can not assess is your prayer level. Is it consistent, regular and elevated or is there barely a trace of it in your life. Prayer will sustain you but it can only sustain you when it becomes part of your being. How's your prayer life? Perhaps today is the day to have a serious conversation about it with the Lord. Oh, he is right there waiting to hear from. He never takes a break from hearing your prayer.

Your prayer life may be flat and limited. Now you know that praying is as vital to your life as taking your next breath. - Gail Lindsay

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Ephesians 6:18

    Great post !!

We need to realize that each one of us are dying of spiritual thirst and prayer is one of our ways of letting God quench that spiritual thirst.
God loves you in infinite ways and prayer is a way you can touch the infinite part of God.
God is love and prayer is a way of letting God filter down into your heart and life.
God is there to build you up and strengthen you. The more you pray the better off you will be because prayer puts you in contact with God.

Thank You so much for sharing such a wonderful post with all of us Danny.

    Many Blessings to you, Judy <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/17/17_1_22.gif' border=0></a>
