When I focus on the details I miss the big picture.

Details, details. There are so many. It is no surprise that our lives are taken up with spending time on them. There are many things to do and consider. At times you may find that you are drowning in details. You may even find that you are so into the details of life that you miss the big picture! It is not unusual to be immersed in the minute details of your life. Problems can arise when you are so closely focused that you lose sight of the world around you and the things that really matter. Take a step back. There, isn't that a better view? You can be detail oriented but be careful not to forget that there is a wide array of things that are important beside just your little world of "to-do's" and tasks. Have you ever really asked yourself what really matters anyway?

You could spend all day being absorbed in the details of your life. Now you know that details are important but they are not necessarily what really matters. - Gail Lindsay

"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42
