Today I am being a light that shines.

Jesus said that we are to be salt and light. When filled with the Holy Spirit you shine like a light in a dark world. As you shine your light, others are drawn to you and will begin to ask how you can be such a source of illumination in the midst of the darkness.

As with most things, light sources vary. What kind of light are you? Are you a:
    - night light who only feels close to God in the privacy of their own home?
    - flashing intermittent light who acknowledges God when it seems appropriate and shares
    the gospel when it's safe?
    - energy saving light who does what they feel they need to do to get by as
a Christian never giving more than that or getting closer to God?
    - floodlight who shines so brightly you overpower others who run from you
    to avoid being blinded?
    - mood adjusted dimmed light who only shines to fit in or feel included?
    - brightly shaded light who hides behind appearances and looks good but
    whose light is covered up?
    - search light looking for others who can begin to know Christ?
    - flashlight who any shines in emergency or after tragedies?
    - constant, eye pleasing light who is a pleasure to be with and who others
    are drawn to?

You may have recognized that you were a light in the darkness but were unaware of they way you were shining. Now you know that there is a spectrum of light. Perhaps it is time that your light bulb was changed.- Gail Lindsay

"No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light." Luke 8:16
