Hi, it is nice to meet a fellow Wisconsinte! Are you having cortisone injections or steroids? I get epidural steroid injections in my neck. They numb the area first and then do the injection so you don't hardly feel a thing. After they are done it feels so good to absolutely no pain (well a little from the injection spot) but when you get home be sure to ice the spot where they injected.....it will really help after the lidocaine wears off. Don't be worried about it ---- it really isn't too bad. I was so scared the first time but I had a really great dr. For my injections they go from the front of neck to the back so the needle is really long.....after I was done the dr. showed me the image on the catscan of the needle in my neck and the location of the nerve root.....it was really interesting. Just remember to ice the spot where the injection went even if you feel no pain.....it will really make a huge difference!
