Thought that the thread on the magnesium book was getting too long! My docs prescribe Mag IVs for some of their patients. My husband got them because he has a family history and is at risk for heart disease (research has shown that those who suffer heart attacks have low magnesium) and I got them because of my FM. My docs are DOs and really into alternative treatments for illness and disease. I get these IVs in series of six about twice a year. Haven't had them for a while because my veins are not in great shape and I need to let them recover - don't have more than 2 that are accessible and only one is dependable. I sure miss that great feeling that comes from the IVs. I wasn't kidding about how great you feel. The "high" only lasts about 12-24 hours and the increased energy/improvement of fatigue lasts 3-6 months.
