I realize that most of the "famous" names in CFS don't see patients but for those of you who see doctors like Cheney do they independently diagnose you or accept prior diagnoses? Also, have they been helpful to you in filing for disability? I am desperate and considering seeking treatment from one of these big names in the field but I am wondering if this would help or hinder my pending SSDI case. If these doctors are not helpful to those filing it could look very bad -- I mean having an expert in the field not making a strong case for you. As many of us have experienced, doctors can sometimes hesitate to get "involved" because they simply don't want the extra work or possible hassles. What do you all know? Thanks.
