I always thought that an MD had more years of education or residency or something? I don't even really know. Wondered if anyone did?

Also what is the difference in someone who is in Family Practice vs. Internal Medicine. I know Family practice usually includes children. Is internal medicine more of a speciality or what?

If you know, just asking and trying to get educated.

    An M.D. practices traditional medicine.
A D.O. is an osteopath. He/she is an MD
who also uses natural supplements and does
manipulations like a chiropractor. I always think
a d.o. is the best of both worlds. Of course, I finally went to one who was an arrogant jerk!

Internal medicine is a specialty and I prefer
to go to an internist over a regular G.P.
I feel they know more. I assume they go to
school more since it is a specialty, but I don't
    know for sure.

    Hope this helps somewhat.
