Back in May, 2004, I hired an attorney to represent me in a disability claim. My request for reconsideration was denied in November, 2004.

My attorney filed a Request for Hearing in November, 2004, and said that it would take "eight to fourteen months and usually more" before the actual hearing would be held. I called his office at the end of last year and found out that it had been assigned to a judge in Fort Wayne. The fourteen months have elapsed.

Does anyone know if there's any "time limit," after which a "case" of disability would be "closed" or terminated?
