a couple of months ago my pain level really shot up. i was having allergies but i didn't think they were that bad. then it went into a sinus infection. the pain level didn't lower until after the sinus infection went away.

yesterday my pain level shot up again but i didn't have any other symptoms. now today the pain is still off the chart but i'm having diarrhea. that's the only other symptom.

has anyone else found that a pain spike is the signal of some impending condition?

Actually, this is really funny, because I've had upper respiratory infections and gastritis and actually hurt LESS than normal. Go figure!!

I usually get a real bad flare just before I get shingles.

I always get worse symptoms when I am sick with anything. Cold, flu, allergies...anything...if I get or have something all my symptoms get worse.

Most definitely. I get very sore joints when I get a virus. Also, the arthritis flares a bit when I get a flu shot. I guess maybe it is the immune system fighting off the virus gets activated. But I'm not sure.
