Dr. Cheney's clinic in North Carolina costs thousands a
    day for a stay. Hmmm.
He said we should take HMS 90 Whey - at $3
per serving - and it is available now from a multi-level
marketing company, so everyone who sells it profits
several times from the suffering and usually impoverished patient. And whey is a dairy product, which may or may not be a source of mad cow disease to humans. Hmmmmmmm.
And now Cheney says CFS is a growth hormone
deficiency illness, and wants CFS patients to take
a substance that is highly controversial and isn't even
legal in Europe. It is believed to cause premature
    aging, cancer and death.
Looks like this Doctor may be most concerned with the
    health of his Bank Account!

I am sure from what you know of Dr. Cheney, it does appear he is driven by profit. What you don't know is that back in the mid 80's, both Dr. Cheney and his partner in Incline Village, NV spent years and almost went broke and had their reputations impunged because they fought the government to try to get CFIDS recognized and to get funding for research. Get a copy of the book, "Osler's Web" if you would like to read about it.

Dr. Cheney is one of the most knowledgeable docs when it comes to CFIDS. He is constantly researching and fine tuning his techniques for treating CFIDS. Now, that said, I have never heard of anyone who is his patient who has recovered from CFIDS. I know several people on this board do go to his clinic and it would be interesting to know how they have progressed since being under his care (no doctor bashing, please).

Dr. Cheney has given very generously of his time; i.e., lost income, to further our cause and to try to find a cure or, at least, treatments to help. It's awfully easy to make judgements when one does not have the full story. I think Dr. Cheney's, and lots of other specialists' fees, are way out of line, but no one has to use these docs. I read what Dr. Cheney has to say and use that to work with my own docs on my treatment.

It was Cheney's article on Klonopin which explained to me why I couldn't sleep, why I had general anxiety, and why I had sensory overload. Since taking Klonopin, all these symptoms have either disappeared or have been greatly reduced. I am forever grateful to him for his research and publishing. The article on Klonopin is in our library.

    Love, Mikie
