I wish I had a good one who knew what to do for me. I have seen so many. I even saw the head rheumatologist at the Medical Colleg of VA. Nothing. Do any of you have a whole lot of good days between the bad ones? I don't seem to anymore. Does this get worse with age?

Not sure where in VA you live...

I'm in southeastern VA. I am seeing Dr. Jane Derrig. She has an office in suffolk, and I think one in another town nearby too... not sure.

she is a D.O. meaning she she does not like to prescribe narc meds.
She is very sensative and caring. she is the first dr. to ask for a blood sample! and I have been treated for FM since spring of 94!

She is not afraid to try natural remedies. and likes to gather info from her patients that may be helpful to others!
    very nice lady.

the link below ( you'll need to copy and paste) has some info on finding a dr. in the area also.

I do know of one place in I think VA Beach. called something like "Pain management specialists" or something.
One of the drs. there was my old dr. I really loved her.
actually she was a nurse practitioner.

I wish I could still see her,but my insurance changed and I can't afford it. Besides its TOO far to drive!

If you'd like to email me for more info feel free i8bambi@mindspring.com
If you live nearby maybe we could get together and gripe about what hurts. LOL that's always FUN isn't it?

    God Bless,
May you have restful slumber tonight!

I have a great doc in Reston, but that's a bit of a drive for you. I looked through the ones listed on the good doc link and there is really none near you. It seems like there out to be someone good in the Richmond area. Of course I would have thought MCV would have one too, so who knows!

You might check out the support groups. There's a button at the top of the page. Click on that and then chose FM or CFS/FM and Virginia. It gives you a list. There's one in Petersburg, if you're interested. At least you might be able to get the names of some good docs in the area.

    Good luck!
