I have been wondering about getting a dog for therapy and possibly to train to do things like picking up dropped objects, etc. But, mostly as a mood lifter. My doctor and therapist have suggested it. Well, this last week I've had the chance to puppysit for a friend and it has been great! "Jack" - a buff/apricot colored cockapoo has been wonderful for my kids and I've noticed that my pain has greatly diminished. The pup is still more work than I'm used to. I'm walking and going outside when I wouldn't before and he pulls hard on the leash when he walks, so my shoulders and neck are a little tighter, BUT overall I feel better. What do you all think? Time for me to get a dog of my own?
