I have fibro, as all know. I take an anti-depressant twice a day, and Soma and Lortabs 3 to 4 times a day. I also take Sonata to help me sleep. Would like to know what others take, and for what reason. People list their meds., but don't tell what they are taking them for..... I'm interested, due to possibly needing to change in the near future.
    Thanks and ((((soft hugs))))

    Heres what I take;
am mainly on supplements, herbs, vitamins, etc. The only med I take is Xanax, low dose (0.25 milligrams) at 6pm for racing brain syndrome. It can also be taken with OTC's Advil gel caps, the Xanax enhances the effect of the Advil, and it is a great pain reliever. BUT do keep in mind that Xanax can be very addictive if used consistantly.

Xanax is an anti anxiety drug, a rather old one. It is addictive, but I only use it once a day, or if I feel an attack coming on.

I have listed below what I take, hope it is helpful. If you have a question, please feel free to ask me, be glad to help.

    Shalom, Shirl

This is for energy and pain.

Product; Ultra B-Complex (High Potency with Folic Acid)
(1 capsule after or during lunch) This helps with brain fog, and energy too.

Product; 800IU's of Natural Vitamin E
    (For numbness, heart, blood etc)

    Product; Ester C 500 milligrams
(antioxidant, helps prevent colds, virus etc.)

Product; ZMA (zinc, magnesium, Vitamin B-6)
For sleep, deep sleep also helps with muscle pains.
    (2 capsules at 10pm )

    Product; Jarro-Dophilus (Probotics)
3 a day for IBS, replaces good bacteria

    Product; Melatonin (5milligrams)
To help fall asleep, take right before bedtime.

All the above can be bought from Pro Health, be sure to ask for a free catalog/Newsletter too. If you want to call the number is; 1-800-366-6056 or you can order on-line. Just go to the 'Store' link on the top right of this page for additional information on supplements.

Product; Essiac Herbal Tea by Resperin Corp.
This is a blood/liver cleanser. It is also known as a cancer cure/preventive.
I take two ounces in the morning two ounces at night.
Can be bought at most health food stores and Supplement catalogs.

    Product; Polynesian Pure Noni Juice
(I take one teaspoon before breakfast, one before lunch for my IBS, it is a great product). I order it by the case!
Can be bought in most health food stores, be sure you get the 'pure' juice or it won't work.

Product; Natural Calm put out by 'Natural Vitality'
This is a powdered Magnesium Citrate.
(I take a teaspoon a day for pain, especially spasms . But don't take too much it will give you diarrhea).

This is about it for the time being, as for a multi vitamin, I have trouble digesting them, so I drink two cans of Ensure a day for the multi.

Also, I drink half my body weight in ounces of water per day, along with a quarter teaspoon of Sea Salt. This has helped with severe sinus headaches, and it seems to have helped the Fibro Fog too.

Here is some good advice; I strongly recommend you add ONE thing at a time for at least a week or two, this way if you have a problem with a product/supplement, you know what is causing it. If you try to take too much at once then if you have a problem, you would have to quit everything and start over again.
I learned this the hard way, so though I would pass on this wise advice!

It took me years to get the right things that I could take. Wasted a lot of money on eyerything from doctors, prescription meds, and vitamins and herbs too.

Just remember, we are all different, so some of what I take might not be the right thing for you. It really is trial and error with these illnesses.

Hope this helps, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I am usually here everyday, but not at a special time.

PS, always buy the best supplements you can afford, as you really get what you pay for with supplements. Pro Health has some of the best ones I have ever taken, and I am not just promoting them, its the truth. I have taken there products before I ever heard of this board.

I hope you are doing well. I still haven't straightened out this da** computer and I miss talking with you.
I am taking anti-depressants for energy and anxiety-remember I tried to go off of them but couldn't. I am taking a muscle relaxer at night that helps take the edge off but would like better pain management!!
I have started giving myself B-12 shots with folic acid, amino acids, proenergy and citrudex but I am still exhausted.
I take melatonin and ZMA at night (I knock 3 times and pray that I go to sleep without having to turn in 100 different positions to find the one that I can sleep in)
Are you still taking DHEA?? I have been taking 50mgs.
I am taking more supplements than that but brain fog is setting and I am sure you are getting bored with my regimen. Let me know how you are feeling!!

Here's my list, and I keep a copy of it on hand for my Dr.'s to remind Them of why I'm taking them.

Vicodin, for my Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disc Diease, and Plantars Ficasitis. I also get bad Headaches, so then I add a Soma and a Vistril for that.

I take Soma for Muscle spasms and also it helps with my IBS.
The Soma helps my legs so much, without them I really couldn't walk.

I take the Vistril for my Histimine problems, I have FMS/MPS and I am troubled by itching, and sometimes rashes.
If I should happen to get bite by a Red ant, Black Fly, or Mosquitos, I take Vistril, it works the best for my Allergic reactions, and it also helps with Anxiety.
Those nasty Insect's Love folks with FMS.

I take xanax, once in awhile for Stress, Anxiety, and sometimes just to quiet my mind and get some rest.

I have tried everything for my Insomnia, Nothing works, so the search for a knock out Pill is still on, that was a joke ok? lol. I really don't like to be unconsious, so that's part of the problem, I fight my Meds. Not on purpose, but out of other fear's I have.

I use an Inhaler, Proventil-HF, works the best for me, without it I only half breathe, I have bad lungs from being a Surfer and going out in the water when I was already sick, scared my lungs, but I do breathing excerise's and that helps, along with my Fablous Karakoe singing.

I use MSM lotion or creme for my skin problems, like on my scar's from previous surgery's, it has reduced the apperance of the scar's greatly. I had a Huge one from my Galbladder surgery and also from my Carpal tunel surgery.

Prilosec for GERD, but I find that avoiding what cause's it helps me more. I get bad stomach pains if I take it more than 2 or 3 days, so I just skip the meals that Hurt me.

I have on hand many meds that I have tried and haven't worked, if only there was a recycling Program so that we could give Meds to others who can't afford them. It does cost a Fortune I found out, for Rx's when you have no Insurance, I do have some now, Thank the Lord.

Well that's about it, long list, but without my Meds and the job they do, I would still be sitting in a chair, afarid to move because of the Pain. I am careful of how I take them, I don't drive or operate Heavy machinery when on them lol. My body has adjusted to a certain level of Pain control, and it's been through working with my Doctors and not giving up.

If I could take Supplements, this is the site I would get them from, you might read some of the Pass post's on other Supplements and what helped and what didn't.
I read labels, and I think that this site has probably the most dependable Products.

Hope I didn't Bore you, and Hope I and the others were of help.
    Sincerely
    kredca4/sharon
