I need a Doc in my area that treats fibro and believe in the narco.
Because i don't care what anyone says when you have it in serverity, that is all that works.

I'm reading were a lot of you are being treated with vico are lortab and i was told by many DOC'S that you don't treat with these but it works .
For how long i don't know but in our shapes relief now is what counts.Does any one agree

I live in Texarkana, Texas. I go to Dr. Cheryl Clevenger at Collom and Carney Clinic ( she's at the one in the Mall). She's only there Tues. and Thurs.

She's just a GP, and I happened on her my mistake when I went there with the flu one time. I really liked her, and she understands FM (except she stresses exercise, and I don't do it!)

She's not a specialist or anything, but just a woman doctor that will listen, and prescribe for you.

You don't make an appointment - you just go.

If you find out about any other doctors in town, let me know.

My dr. is Dr. Bruce Safman and his main office is in Little Rock, but he has clinics set up in Texarkana,Hope,Malvern,Sherwood,Heber Springs,Magnolia and more I think. I have only been to the clinic in Texarkana 2 times so I cannot remember the exact address but I believe it is on Texas Blvd. Let me give you the phone #'s to the main office where you can inquire. The #'s are:
1-800-214-2663 or 1-501-666-2824. I go to the clinic in Hope as I live in a neighboring town. He is good. He takes the time to listen and does prescribe Darvocet for me. Along with Lyrica and some others. He gives me 110 pills per RX of Darvocet. I don't know if Darvocet will work for your pain level, but he is definetly a dr. to look into as he is educated on the latest meds and takes the time to really listen to his patients. Good luck to you! LOL Carla

Thats who i say for a year and did me no good he had me on darvocet, lyrica it didn't work for me but you have to understand i had open heart surgery, carpetunel release surgery and the pain meds i was on were very strong. Darvon and ex. dose nothing for me and he want do anything else. The doc i see now that is out a lot takes care of my pain he's just never there.
But if your happy with safeman thats good.
some one in the room has an artical by Robert Bennett and he said it best some of us you have to treat with narco.

Yes, he has been pretty stern about not giving me a RX for Lortab etc. & I myself am concerned because my pain level seems to be increasing the older I get. I have heard lots of people on this site though that are able to get prescriptions for Lortab and Oxycodone etc. so there must be some dr's open to prescribing narcotics for fibro pain. I sure hope you can find one that can prescribe what you need so you can get some relief. Take care, LOL, Carla

I guess I'm in a fog. It just dawned on me that we were posting the other day!!

I haven't heard about the new pain doctor here in town.

I like my doctor, although, she's not a specialist. She does know about FM, and seems interested in helping me.

Th only thing she suggests that I do, and I just cannot do is to exercise. She thinks this is a big part of feeling better.'s a big part of feeling worse for me anyway!

Hope you're having a good day.

Some docs don't perscribe it but if you read the articile by Robert Bennett he says most fibro pat you have to because nasd only give about20% relive and that is so true i can take 800 mg motron and its like i just ate a bag of skitilles.
