Does anyone know how I might be able to access my orginal (old) records from this wonderful doctor. He has since retired and I have no way to contact him directly to find out. It more than likely will be impossible as it has been since the mid 80's since I last saw him.

He was the one who originally diagnosed and treated me way back then and got me back on my feet. He was way ahead of times in those days, when everyone was still referring to our DD as the "Yupee Flu." Would love to get my records if possible.

In California doctors by law must keep their medical records for 10 years after they retire. After that time most have them shredded because of the cost to maintain them.

If you can find the records....they are generally archived...and cost quite a bit to xerox....(at least that was my experience when a clinic I went to closed....it was $1 per page for copying.) I declined.
