This is for all people currently on Cortisone therapy, and those who may be on it in the future.

I got an email today from the NADF (National Adrenal Diseases Foundation) about the coming release of their new dual action hydrocortisone drug 'Duocort'.

Until now people have had to rely on 2-4x daily tablets of hydrocortisone, or longer acting, stronger more damaging prednisone etc. This new drug is a dual release hydrocortisone - the first layer releases a quick dose in about half the time of current normal HC tablets, and the second layer releases a sustained dose for the next 16 hours or so, lowering at night to mimic the bodys natural cortisol rhythm.

The company seems to have gotten on board with company Orphan for distribution. I think it will be a great step up for people that depend on it.

Read the info at their site: http://www.duocort.com/

I have adrenal disease and I was on cortef. I was taken off it due to extreme weight gain. I do have to give myself shots if I start to have a crisis.
