This is the freakiest thing and I wonder if anyone else gets this. It feels like your head swells a little and there is like an electric current that starts in your head then travels like a wave down the rest of your body. I know it sounds strange, I used to just have one ocassionaly and now they are more frequent and it gets pretty scary. I wonder if this is the FM? Any insight appreciated.

i get a current like that in my head . Its fast and kinda rushes through my head. It comes and goes when my balance/dizziness is acting up. I dont get it through my whole body though. Hope that helps a bit. :p

I have had strange sensations myself and I used to be really fearful about them..
I am not now, as you go along from year to year with this illness, you just sense that odd things will happen neurologically from it or otherwise..and can not be explained by any doctors...

I will wake up from sleep in the night hours and have a paralyzed feeling in my face and sometimes all over the limbs for 60 seconds..there is a wave of electricity that travels down my face...from the top of the head down the nose and on down...

you might be having some form of mild seizure activity..
A friend of mine online has been to the very best neuros
and they have her on a seizure med...and she is doing better..

I am not going to any specialist with my problems unless it interferes in my life, in a big way...I just do not go to any doctor anymore unless I have to..
It costs too much and I get tired of them just writing a prescription......for something to take...when they do not have an answer...for me..

I've wondered if I should go to a Neuro for this and the headaches. I do occasionally get vertigo along with tinnitis, like a rushing sound in the ears, it drives me nuts. These electrical wave feelings are scary though. I do have times where I tend to zone out of what is going on around me, I don't mean to, sometimes my kids can ask me a question and it takes me awhile to respond, like a delayed reaction. I've wondered if these could be seizures. Then again the electrical thing could just mean the central nervous system is going a little crazy at that point? Thanks for the responses.
