    Hi all,

For the past month and a half, I have had problems with my pancreas. It came on all of a sudden and I was hospitized and released. Not a lot is known about it, it's been hard to get a knowledgable doctor, diagnosis and treatment. It's a horrible, horrible disease.20 % mortality rate.

They asked me if I drank. I don't. They said three major causes of this disease is alcoholism, gallstones and virus.

SO they took out my gallbladder 3 weeks ago. I still have the pancreas pain.

Now get this, I have since learned that among other things, HIV and Epstein Barr are the viruses that can cause this!!!!

    Thanks Hangininthere.:)

What would be a bad reaction?

Any other anti virals I should take or should I just try one at a time first?

That DOES sound great.Where do you get the tea?

I have low blood pressure so I am wondering what to try first??

I really need to get some virus killers in me pronto, the longer this goes on, the more my pancreas is damaged. And the pancreas does not regenerate.

    leenerups:
I hope you are recuperating from surgury well and that the pancreas might be slowly improving. Maybe it takes time or an additonal doctor's visit to go over post-op reviews.

Additonallly: thank you for the information on the supplements.
I might give them a try.

    Hugs,

My Mom had it a few years ago. Hers was caused because some type of valves were mixed up inside and she had to have surgery. The first thing the doc did ask was if she drank. Never a drop. She was in ICU - this is nothing to mess with. I'd find a new doctor.

Thank you NYrofan.I really hope I'll be okay. I had no idea that not keeping on top of the virus could attack the organs.

cjcookie, I just had an MRI to see if I have this problem too. Can you tell me more about how your mom is today and what she had done to correct it?

I am looking for a specialist now.

I called Mom to ask her exactly what she had done and she said that there were two somethings (maybe ducts) that were supposed to go together into one but hers never did. So either they took out one or joined them together and she was fine after that. They did her surgery in Indianapolis. We live near St. Louis. Sorry I don't know more specifics.

I will try to find out why she went to Indianapolis (I'm assuming for a specialist) and exactly where she went.
