has anyone else been excluded from a CFIDS diagnosis because the EBV didn't show up in labs? the doctors just won't say "CFIDS" because EBV isn't presenting. i also think because i'm younger they don't want to see it or something. they also refuse to admit the vaccine is to blame!! oh the joys!

Hon---I think you are still going the conventional (old school) disbelieving doc route....get thee to a CFIDS Specialist---

I remember your post on going at the board of docs over the vaccine.....

Time is precious...you need a Doc who is willing to treat your disorder....not you having to try to convince the unconvincable----

Never heard of being excluded because EBV doesn't show up in labs. It is certainly not one of the Center For Disease Control's criteria on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome...

The success in treating CFIDS depends on getting treatment ASAP. The longer one waits, the longer it takes.

thanks for the replies. luckily i am being treated with herbs and also acupuncture. i sleep a lot, and am drinking tons of water with only organic foods! i was on a round of doxycycline but it didn't do anything. then came celebrex for joint pain and that hit me withsome major side effects. i am going with the prescription drug free root for awhile, because the western meds didn't do anything.

Is not necessary for CFIDS. It can certainly trigger the illness, but so can a number of other infections, stresses, etc.

Almost everyone tests positive to EBV just from exposure, but it needn't be active. Your doc just doesn't sound very knowledgeable.

I would see someone who treats CFIDS and is more experienced in its treatment.
