i have CEBV, Fibro and am now loosing my sight. I have been to every BAD doctor, neurologist and specialist. I need help. Researching for someone who specializes in EBV is a daunting task. Help Please. Dont refer to the Dr. whose name starts with an "S" and ends with an "O". She is horrible

I assume you are talking about Patricia Salvato? He, is a she, so wanted to make sure we were talking about the same person. If so ignore my post but she is my doctor and since seeing her I have made drastic improvements in my health and she is one of, if not, the most knowledgable doctor in Houston when it comes to CFS. I don't know much about doctors specializing in EBV. Finding a doctor is very difficult and I hope the best for you.

    Take care,

When researching this doc I found alot of negative comments about the staff as well. I have also noticed this in the office on occassion. It's a shame but I do understand not wanting to deal with these kind of people. I wish I could help but hope you find doc soon.

    Take care,

I understand you not wanting to deal with a rude staff as well. I looked up Dr. Salvato and I think she sounds like one of the best CFS doctors around. Here's the link:

If you want to try to find a different doctor, you might want to contact any local support groups for CFS or FMS and ask them for doctor referrals that's how I found mine.

they are rude, if you leave there and you forget to get something, or ask a question your pretty much up a creek without a paddle till the next visit!!

i asked (over the phone for copys of my tests & bloodwork) and got a really rude girl on the phone that said, you will have to come in, im not sending you anything.i live 80 miles from her.

if you can get past all that, she is a Great Dr. although theres not a whole lot any Doc can do for us,IMO

at one point she had me working again, then after several years of overdoing it, and a bad Hysterectomy, im back to square one again.
if there was some one i knew of in Houston i'd tell ya, but shes about the only one anyone ever talks about.
the support group thing was mentioned, you might try that.
    Good Luck,

She is one of the most highly respected AIDS and M.E./CFIDS doctors in the country! Her curriculum vitae is so long, it takes a suitcae to carry it!

As a previous medical clinic manager, I found out that one must tell the doctor about their staff's handling of issues: write patricia a letter and tell her your concerns. Most dr.s are so busy seeing patients, they have no idea what's going on in their office with staff.

Her head nurse should also be informed, and the clinic manager. They have so many seriously ill patients, I'm sure they get frustrated and short with patients at times.

Sometimes the clinic manager is also not aware of the problem; they will take decisive action if they are told in an objective, non-emotional manner, ok?

Best of luck to you; your dr. is a marvel, a gem...try to work it out...

Thank you for your reply. When i was researching and trying to find a doctor, everyone said she is the best. I thought to myself- well, this lady has a good track record with AIDS patients...she can help me. Honestly after 3 years i could not put up with the staff anymore. Once, I called for my MRI results (because Dr. S. suspected Multiple Sclorosis), the nurse proceeds to tell me all of my tests were fine and that i did not have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so livid. Then all the ATP injections and pain and I never improved. I will keep searching.....

thank you for your reply. She is about the only Doctor....but i am too sick to deal with phone calls not being returned, prescriptions not being re-filled (when i call thewm in a WEEK ahead of time) Dealing with your doctor should not make you so stressed out! I will try the group. Thank you.
