Many of you have prayed for my brother-in-law, Bob who suffered from oral cancer. He has had radical cancer surgery, facial reconstruction, radiation and chemo. Mixed in with all of this he has had several infections, an appendectomy, a failing of his feeding tube, and a bowel obstruction that resulted in an emergencey colostomy.

He has survived many brushes with death since January. The doctor's were pleased with his physical progress, and we were elated when Bob acknowledged Jesus as his savior.

Bob was ready to have his colostomy reversed when an infected looking lump appeared on his shoulder. It grew three or four times its original size in a weeks space. Yesterday, after a needle biopsy we were given the news that his cancer has metastisized.

It is the shoulder, in both the bone and muscle. They also believe it has spread to his lung. It is inoperable.

He cannot have anymore radiation. They are scheduling him for chemo, and doing a body-wide CT scan before they start.

Bob and my sister, Marie, desperately need your prayers as they face this situation and make decisions about his treatment.

about your brother-in-law. I will be praying for him, your sister, and your family. My mother had oral cancer and deciding which treatments to use can be difficult.

    God Bless

It breaks my heart to hear about your brother-in-law. He has been through so much. I will certainly be praying for Bob, Marie and their entire family.

Thank you Yesh, Judy, Linda and Debbie for your prayers. They mean so much to me, and give comfort to my sister when she hears people all around the world are praying for her and Bob.

Marie and I went to church together yesterday. The one I go to is a little too far for her under her circumstances. The Lord led her to a small fellowship. She did not know it before she made enquiries, but it is pastored by a friend and former neighbor of mine.

She is not pressing Bob to go to church and is letting God handle it. Believe me, him just letting Marie go without a fuss is evidence of his rebirth in Christ. I know part of it is his past church experiences from childhood and part of it is self-conciousness regarding his appearance and speech. (Because he is missing part of his tongue, his speech sounds as if he were retarded.)

It would be pure joy for Marie, if Bob would go with her to church, so I am asking you to pray that this happens.

I will be posting more specific prayer requests regarding Bob and Marie in the future.
