I am hoping to find a new song game for us to play. I don't know if we've done this before, but it doesn't seem familiar. Songs with any famous person in the title or lyrics.

"The Ballad of Davy Crockett" by Tennessee Ernie Ford

"Abraham, Martin, and John" written by Dick Holler

    Hey, GB

Let's see what we can find. Lottsa songs about Santa Clause. I guess
    we're doing real people, huh.

First one that came to mind was a song Johnny Cash recorded a
    long time ago. The ballad of Ira Hayes. Hayes was a Pima Indian;
one of the flag raisers at Iwo Jima. He is buried in Arlington
    National Cemetery.

The Battle of New Orleans refers to Old Hickory and Col. Jackson.
This was Andrew Jackson who became our 7th President.

In the 60s there was a TV show with a theme song about Daniel
Boone. Played by Fess Parker who also played Davy Crockett.

The song about Davy Crockett was a big hit and led to a coonskin
cap craze. My younger brother had one.

    Good topic!

I have a few to add:

    King Tut, Steve Martin

The Ballad of Jesse James, Billy Joel

    Bette Davis Eyes, Kim Carnes

    Hey Jude, The Beatles
(Paul McCartney wrote this song for John Lennon's son Julian)

    That's all for now! :)

    Nice work, Kids

There were several songs written about Lucky Lindy after he flew
the Atlantic. You can hear some of them on Youtube. Search for
    Songs about Lindbergh.

There are also various songs about Jesse James on Youtube.

At least two songs were written after Rudolph Valentino died.
One was titled "There's A New Star in Heaven Tonght". You
can hear it on Youtube. A song with a similar title was
    written for Princess Diana.

Floyd Collins died in a Kentucky Cave while exploring same
in 1925. His song is also on Youtube. I am not posting any of
these songs here as they are not particularly musical.
