How many famous people can we come up with that have either first or last names that are a city, state, country or maybe a river, lake , mountain, etc.

    Hi GB

I know all the people in your last post except for Chynna and Diego. Funny.
I read Chynna belongs to some pop girl group. I listen those people all the
time. And Diego is new to me. He's on some new show. Actually I never watch
new TV shows or movies so I wouldn't know him either.

I saw two of the people you listed in your last post on stage. John Denver
when he was with the Chad Mitchell Trio and Bert Parks who was playing
the Music Man and was excellent in the role. He and Marion the librarian
did a wonderful dance called the peabody. Requires some fast stepping.

Haven't thought of Yosemite Sam for ages. We had a Y. Sam comic
book when I was a kid. I had never heard of Yosemite National Park.
I thought his name was pronounced the way it's spelled.

Am working on a few more names to post.

Rock, Chynna Phillips is the daughter of John and Michelle Phillips, The Mamas and the Papas singing group. She was on Dancing With The Stars a while back and did a really good job.

Diego K. is on the fairly new tv show, The Blacklist. I've been watching it since the first episode. It's complicated and hard to follow, but interesting. James Spader is the star and I've always liked him.

    trail and a bridge.

Also on a historic note, General Stephen Kearny has a Fort and a
city named after him; both in Nebraska (plus more listed in

    San Francisco.

Diane, I was trying to remember who had named their child Ireland. It was the Baldwins! I like that name. Are there any famous people named India? I like that too. I have an extended family member, born around 1870, whose name was India. GB

    Hi GB and all!

The only famous INDIA I can think of is:

    India Arie, singer/songwriter, actress, musician

Been trying to think of more "India"s, but not having success.

I have to try to think of more entries for this game, too. :D

    Hugs, Diane

    Hi Kids

Well, there was Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India until she was
assassinated in the 1980s. That's as close as I could get. There are
some "famous" people named India on the net, but I never heard of
    any of them.

Olympia Dukakis was good, Diane. The only thing I ever saw her in was
Steel Magnolias which had a wonderful cast. And I loved the music
they played in the last scene, the Easter egg hunt.

There is a fictional India in Gone With the Wind. India Wilkes.
    She is Ashley's sister.

    Hi, y'all!

    How about:

    Bob Denver (Gilligan's Island), actor

    Denver Pyle, actor

    Rock Hudson, actor

Rudy Vallee (well, it's not spelled "valley", but .... :)

Jill Ireland, actress/singer, married to Charles Bronson

Now, think of Sandy Beach, Hawaii:

    And I add:

    Sandy Duncan, actress, singer, dancer

Sandy Koufax, major league baseball player

Thinking of the Great Smoky Mountains:

    Smokey Robinson, singer/songwriter

Red River reminds me of Red Skelton

Guess what ... Kevin helped me with some of these answers! He really got into the game. :)

Trying to think of more to post...............

    Hi, Kids,

This isn't a group of famous people but my Mom's first MIL named all her sons for names in NE, where they lived. This wasn't a small family. I often wonder whether she ran out of towns to name her sons for and, thus, stopped having kids. Great game. My poor pea brain cannot cogitate so I can't participate.

    Love, Mikie

Drop by any time, Mikie. Cities in Nebraska, huh? Well, could be Gordon, Edgar,
Clay, Nelson, Randolph, Curtis, Wilber, or Milford.

Could also be Wahoo, Tecumseh, Gibbon, Peru, or Weeping Water.

Ok, let's start our list of geographical names with Roseanne Barr. Could be
a sand bar or a tavern.

Frank Church, publisher and editor. He wrote the famous letter, "Yes, Virginia,
there is a Santa Clause way back in the 19th century.

Constance Towers, actor- singer. Appeared in lots of Broadway musicals. I used
to have her recording of The King and I with Yul Brynner.

Zebulon Pike, Explorer; General. Led expeditions over much of the western half
of our country. Pikes Peak is named after him.

Lloyd Bridges, actor. Father of Jeff and Beau.
