arod59 2 posted about caffeine being a no no.
so true for most of us.
fibrorebel brought up the issue of trading off caffeine in
our coffee for chemicals used in the decaffeinating process.
if you look for coffees that are decaffeinated using a
swiss water process you are getting a product that is 99.9%
caffeine free and no chemicals are involved with the processing. couple that with using unbleached filters or a gold filter and its a pretty healthy alternative for getting
the 'coffee taste' fix that makes me feel like I dont have
to give up yet one more thing I like.
these coffees are about 2x the price of traditionally processed coffees but for me it last 2x as long as when I was drinking caffeinated coffee. ( now just for taste, not for pick me up)
health stores carry these as well as teas processed this way or you can find companies on line that ship direct.
    Happy decaffing all.

what about the name brand decafs that say "naturally decaffeinated"? I realize it might just be a marketing thing (like low fat grape juice, grr), but I would also like to believe in the truth in advertising thing. Of course, those rules may have been bent for so long it no longer applies, except where it keeps them from lawsuits....
