I went yesterday morning for labwork. I had fasted for 12 hours. This time, in addition to the usual blood drawn for glucose, cholesterol, electrolytes, etc., the tech also drew extra blood for cortisol testing and heavy metals testing. She took some 6 of those vials of blood out of me. It's a good thing I had my daughter with me to drive me there and back -- I was weak after the tech finished, that there was no way I could have driven myself home. I got home, feeling really sick to my stomach and exhausted -- unfortunately, too exhausted and sick to go to my therapy, which I ended up having to cancel. I ate a piece of light toast and then went to bed, where I crashed for the next 6 hours. I don't know what caused this reaction to the labwork -- normally I don't have any problems from it. But, then, normally they do not take that much blood out of me all at once. I think next time, I better schedule the tests separately from each other when it is for more than the usual tests.
