Hi, y'all. I'm new to this site but not new to FM. I've had it for 8 years now. I am on Effexor and a sleep aid. I have never taken any other pain relievers besides Tylenol and Alleve. Lately, tho, the pain associated with FM has been awful. I've never tried prescription pain relievers but I feel that I no longer have a choice. Has anyone experienced good results with one?

    Hi and welcome!

If you do a search (use the button at the top of the page) on pain relievers, you will find a lot of old posts on this. I, personally, find Vicodin to be a great drug for me -- it doesn't affect me cognitively and generally cuts through the worst of the pain pretty effectively -- not many side effects for me. I was on Ultracet for a while, which also worked well, but is contraindicated with the Effexor I am now taking.

Different things work for different people, though...
