Hey everyone! I went to the doctor's yesterday. He examined me again, and said that he thinks that it definately is fibromyalgia, but I also may have some spinal damage. I should be having an MRI soon to find out. He has given me about a dozen different useless pain medications, and I asked for something else. At first he said that he didn't know what else to give me. He was actually not going to give me anything at all!! So I told him that I am tired of suffering, and I REALLY needed something that would work!! So he ended up giving me 10mg. Percocet. Let me tell you, it is a godsend!! For the first time in 6 months, I slept through the night, and I am 90% pain free!!!! I was actually able to drive today without being nauseous and dizzy from the pain! I got to do my own laundry! I cooked my own breakfast!! I am so happy and relieved. I stopped by the doctor's office and left a message for him to thank him. I guess it works to be persistant. I wish that he would have done this sooner. I was beginning to forget how it feels to be pain free!! So, I hope this will inspire someone out there. So many doctors are so worried about giving out narcotics. You just have to convince them that you are really suffering and that they should not worry about you becoming addicted. This is what these medications are for! For those of us who really are in pain!! You can always be weened off of them in the future. Good luck to all of you who are still battling this issue! I hope that this brings you some hope!!

    Love and Hugs,

SO GLAD YOUR DOCTOR GAVE YOU SOMETHING TO HELP YOU. IN YOUR CASE, HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT GOING TO A PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR, WHO WILL GIVE YOU SOMETING AND PUT YOU ON A REGIME OF PAIN MEDICATION. IF YOU DON'T WANT TOO, THEN PLEASE ONLY TAKE THEM WHEN ACTUALLY NEEDED AS I GO TO A PAIN SPECIALIST AND I HAVE PAIN MEDICATION, BUT THE LONGER YOU TAKE IT, YOUR BODY WILL EVENTUALLY BUILD UP A TOLERANCE TO THE MEDICATION YOU ARE ON, THIS IS THE REASON THAT I HAVE BEEN SPACING MY PAIN MEDS OUT LONGER DURING THE DAY.I DO THIS AS I DON'T WANT TO GO UP ANY FURTHER THAN WHAT I'M ON BECAUSE THAN I WOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO TAKE IF I EVER NEED SURGERY AGAIN. GLAD YOU GOT SOME HELP.

    GENTLE HUGS AND CHEERS,
    JANICE

Thank you for the response! I am in the beginning of my diagnosis. So, I have not gotten to the point of going to a pain management doctor yet. But I do plan to at some point soon. I am trying to take one pill every four to six hours. And so far, it seems to be working. I just hope that it is not a fluke. I definately know about working up a tolerence. I have been taking Ultram on and off for about 3 years. It is basically useless to me now. I just don't want to stop taking it cold-turkey because of the withdrawl effects.

SO MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE TAKEN ULTRM HAVE SAID IT HELPED THEM BUT IT NEVER DID A THING FOR ME. MAYBE ITS BECAUSE IT TAKES ALLOT FOR ME TO FEEL NO PAIN. I LEARNED THIS AFTER I WAS HAVING MY FOOT WORKED ON AND HE HAD TO DEADEN IT MORE, PLUS WHENEVER I HAVE BEEN PUT TO SLEEP I WAKE UP FAST AND WHEN I DO HAVE SOMETHING NUMBED FOR THE DOCTOR TO WORK ON IT(FOOT, TEETH etc) my numb area wakes up allot quicker than most people. He told me it was because of my liver. some about it metabolism (speled wrong) faster than normal people. WHAT IS A NORMAL PERSON LIKE, ITS BEEN SO LONG SINCE I WAS CONSIDERED NORMAL, LOL,LOL,LOL, JANICE
