Hi Chris! I live in Calgary too! I liked the picture of the dog on your profile. :)

I just moved here a year ago, so I don't know the place really well. What things are there in this city for the FM/CFS people? And do you know any good doctors you could reccomend? I'm still looking for one. Not much energy, so the gathering information on them part is going slowly.

Do you go to the CFS/FM support group that is every third Tursday of the month? I haven't been to one yet, but I hope to go next month.

So thrilled to find a local here! Hope to hear from you soon. Hugs, Shannon

    Hi Shannon:

Noticed this post. I also live in Calgary. Moved here 1-1/2 years ago. First time West. We live in the N.W.

Have you found any helpful doctors or looked into the support group? I haven't gone to any meetings

Love the weather this week. Warm today.

Cindy, thanks for the reply! I'm in the NW too, moved here last summer. Finally someone I can complain about this weather to!! lol

I'm still looking for a doctor here. The local CFS/FM reccomended two specialists (Beverly Thompkins, 802-1772; and Elanor Stein, 287-9941), but you need a referal for them, and the wait list is about a year. They also reccomended GP Dr. Scott Holder (242-3156), but he's deep in the SW. Alberta Health Link (943-5465) can give you a list of doctors near your home who are accepting patients. It's a short list for the NW, and I've been phoning around to them to see if any of them have dealt with our DD before. No luck so far. Dr. Terry Willard, a herbalist, has helped me somewhat.

I haven't tried the support group so far. I think it meets on the 15th this month. Call ME/FM of Alberta for location, 692-2267. Post a thread if you do go, tell me how it was. :) I don't think I have the energy for it so far.

Do you know any good doctors, herbalists, naturopaths, whatever, here? Thanks :) Shannon

I decided to give the Fibro Clinic a try so I flew to Denver in June. They took extensive blood work and found alot of underlying causes. Right now I'm being treated for them and starting to feel a little better. More Energy. Getting out more, shopping etc.

Haven't had any luck with doctors here. I had phoned Dr. Tompkins but long waiting list.

I've also tried acupunture, chiro, massage, herbs etc. with big bills and no luck.

I'm in Edgemont, Market Mall not too far. Raining today.
