I had laser surgery done on my eyes in 2000 in Lake Worth, Florida and now have a cataract forming from lupus meds. The surgeon asked me to get the eye measurements pre laser surgery from the laser surgery place. The laser surgery records room informed me that in 2003 they destroyed all the records. I was never notified or asked if I wanted those records. She is going to double check just in case, but highly doubts it as it is their rule to destroy in 3 years. WHAT, since when does a medical doctor destroy your medical records in 3 years?? Anyone know anything about this?

Amazingly I was notified the doctors office in the other state FOUND my records (which they originally said were destroyed), and faxed me a release to get copies of them. Interesting.
