i have this problem right now and it started about two months ago..

when i go outside in the cold my hands instantly freeze and i have gloves on to...and then when i go inside and pull my gloves off and go on about my business my hands hurt so bad....they feel like when you have hands in freezer and they are thawing out. burn is not the word... now i would like to know if anyone on here has had or have that problem, and if so what is causing it...

    appreciate any answer.....thanks......shirley

    Has anyone mentioned *Rhenauds* (<spl?)
to you? Does your hands also get real red and sometimes even turn a blue color?
If so, maybe you need to see your doctor about it.
I have this and it IS a horrible thing to deal with but you can keep it under control. Just have to always keep your hands WARM. Wow! This is kinda funny - to have somethig myself and not even SURE of how to SPELL it! lol!
Ooops! I got it now ...
    "Raynauds"

    Hope this helps.

    Shirley:
Before I started on Synthroid for hypothyroidism I use to have cold hands. If anyone were to touch them they would probably jump.

Since on thyroid meds, it seems to have subsided.
    Just my experience...

That cold hands thing. What may be worth while is getting some glove warmers the little battery ones.

My hands get cold and I am still wondering if my recent blood clot in the finger was caused by Raynauds like syndrome.

I did read on here not to warm your hands up too rapidly once they are cold, like holding them under hot water, I cannot recall why.

    I didn't THINK about that-what N.F. said, about the synthroid? Maybe YES! I TOO (here I go!lol)
am Hypothyrodism. It is for sure, THAT causes all kinds of problems! The thyroid is a funny little thing that can even cause death if not treated right.
Don't mean to sound morbid but, it's true!
When you go and find out ...
    let us know! :eek:)

Quite a few of us have Raynauds.. I can't cut up a chicken anymore without doing it under warm running water.. Mine turn bright red then itch like crazy, swell and turn white..
It is commen with Fibro, commen with auto-immune disorders.. though some people have it alone. If you do a search there is alot of info available. Nothing much you can do but stay warm..
I did read a interesting article the other day.. they were doing an experiment with people who suffer from raynauds giving them Viagra! Because Raynauds is a circulation problem aparantly it helps! Might be of interest to some of our male friends here! lol!
    Hugs!!
