I wasn't sure what board to post to post this one. A little while ago someone from the worship board send me an e-card from a Christian web site. I had used it to send those funny cards to people. Long story short. I went to that site last night and all this junk popped up with the I/E logo which looked real and said my computer had been infected with 643 porno sites and it needed to be cleaned and I needed to download this program. I almost had a heart attack on the spot. Like I say it looked real. I called my son in a panic and said what do I do. He said the whole thing is a scam. If it was true it would have only popped up on the microsoft website which I wasn't on. So I am just letting you kow that if you get anything like that that pops up close it down ( although it is a beggar) or just shut off your compter and re-start it. He said if I did open it, it would have opened the door for so much trouble. I would love to answer questions but I am a computer retard and don't know but your 5 yr. kid probably So like I say I just wanted to let you know to be aware of how sneaky these whatever/whoever are. When in doubt don't open.
Hope this saves someone some trouble.

I had this warning sent to me quite some time ago about postcards and all the horror you just experienced.

I, too, am inept with computers, but I know enough to heed warnings. So glad your son was around and you didn't open it.

Hope people read this. Very important warning.

Thanks so much for your post. I have windows xp, firewalls, anti virus etc. The issue is like you said was that everything looked official. I think that is the warning. Double check the warnings. I don't do anything personal on line but that is my preference. I guess the moral of the story is when you see a pop up go and grab a 5 year old for
