    I have been trying to grow some corn and peppers and few other things, but I'm finding this white stuff on some of it and it really looks like somebody spit on it..does anyone know what it is

    I'll take a shot at it. How about snails? They leave a slimmy little trail of spit like stuff behind them.
    If this is the case, pick up Slug Killer in pellets or powder.

    They are harmless to the plants. The spit is to catch other bugs. If you dont want to see them just take a hose and spray them off. Usually the later the summer goes I dont they are around too much because of the heat.

    Gardening was very theraputic to me for years...its the one thing I swear I will do again someday.
