I applied for state disability, and then, on my own, applied for assistance through state rehabilitation.

Because I applied for state rehab, my application for state disability is on hold. I have to go through the whole rigamarole with state rehab (2-3 months worth) and then reapply for state disability.

If I hadn't applied for rehab, I would not have been required to do so. So by doing something that I thought was productive has waylayed my state disability assistance, which is a whole $250 a month, and has to be repaid!

I feel like I am getting screwed right and left, and not one to help.

    It really pisses me off.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

State rehab is usually to get you training and return you to work, so you applying for state disability was the exact opposite of you applying for state rehab. It can be tough unless you talk to someone who has been through it. I would see if anyone you know knows someone who has been through it all and then talk to them because Rehab just in case Rehab labels you ready to work and you can't.
