I can't imagine how scared you must feel. I wish there was something I can do. They are talking about mandatory evacuation, do you have a place to go???

I will say a prayer for you.

yep -it is scary cause we havent got everything fixed yet from katrina
,we are not close to water, but we sit on a hill with no wind break to speak of.
we will have to go to hubbys folks
but they are closer in fact to the storm
but it is a stronger home.. sigh.
    i am soo tired,
i wish i could go to bed and pull the covers over my head.
i have 4 dogs and there is no place for them,
so they will come with us,
and that probably will not be too fun...
please keep prayng for us all everyone
    and thank you!

Hugs to you - I saw this on the UK news tonight and my heart went out to all of you folks.

Our first apartment flooded years ago and I had PTSD after it - I went through it all again after watching New Orleans three years ago. I just wanted to help each and every person affected. I hope and pray this won't be anything like as bad.

I'm glad you are not near the water at least - I hope the wind won't be as bad as you are worrying about.

Have you any Xanax or anything you could take a little extra of to help you through this stressful time?

Sending prayers and gentle hugs your way,

    Love Bunchy x

Is the home you are going to safe? Where is it? Do you have anyone further away from there you can go stay with? This looks like an awful storm. Just saw where it is a Catagory 4 storm. Please get as far away as possible. I am praying for you and your family.

If you are and in the path. Get out i know you know that i live close to the coast. I wish you could move also. Listen if you have no where to go. I wiil fine someone to come get you. I live 30 miles north of Tallahassee and i am praying for you. Our churches and everyone here work together for people our redcross. You can come east to Thomasville and stay with me. Just let me know please i can get hold of the red cross here quick.
So e-mail me if you cannot get out. you are worrying me.
I have said prayers for you. We all have not all of you have to get out of the path.
I cannot imagine. We had a hurricane hit here bad like that in 70s. It was bad. Nothing like Katrina.
Faye just came in here and stayed and flooded everything.
Thank God we only had one boy i am so sorry he died.
parents are crazy we got 3o inches of rain in two and half days. He was playing in it. Most people need tennis shoes also not flip flops. For the flooding. We have such a small and good town. We had huge trees live oaks and tall pines and pecan trees. Fell everywhere. We were very lucky.
Please let me know i cannot even imagine dont want to

    Hi there Homesheba,

I can image how you are feeling at least some, since we did live in Houston for 30 years and on the west bank of LA for a couple of years. We lived through a few of them and they were not any fun. I am sure it is even more scary living rightoff the coast (water). Yes, it is so beautiful there but can be terribly scary when those hurricanes and storms arise.

Yes, it also alot worse when you have what we have and the stree does make you feel alot worse. Plus, I have hi blood pressure.

God bless you sweetie and your family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Wish I was there to give you some big hugs.

Blessings and hugs to you (((Homesheba))),

    and thank you for praying!!!!
we stayed here at home and so far all i lost was a eucaliptus tree
but im not even gona complain about that!!
we havent walked around this place good yet tho-
will be picking up stuff that was thrown around.
and lookes like we'll still get rain tho.
    i am by Biloxi,ms.
actually ms gets hit pretty bad but media mostly talks about n.o.
in fact we got it worse in katrina
but we just picked ourselves up by the bootstraps
and got to work cleaning up.
people here are pretty much used to it
    except for new comers
that have just moved here for casinos.
well, morning will be here soon,
so then ill be able to tell more.
its the flooding now that is a bad problem for many.
    america sure is cathing it...
thank you again so much everyone.

    Hi Homesheba,

Glad that you are doing OK and sure hope that when you get to check out everything today you will have little damage. Yes, I know what you mean about everyone just thinking about damage to New Orleans and that is mostly what the media talks tabout. It was the same as with Katrina, as you said.

It was also not just the poor people either. I have a friend in one of my singing groups whose daughters' house was totalled in Katrina. She was a doctor in Mississippi. I will possibly see her today to see what has happened this time. It was not just the poor black people who were effected but also many upper and middle class people too. I wish the media would talk about that too. I know that somehow it seems much sadder when you are talking about people with so little to begin with.

So many people are displaced and with so much damage and upheaval to families. This time they did have lots of evacuations in the New Orleans area and some other areas to I think. Looks like N.O. dodged the big bullet this time and I hope all the levee's did hold. I think they did but had some topping off of some. We did live on the west bank for two years. I believe that area had some problems this time. My friend's daughter and husband's lives may have been spared because they were at the hospital and stayed there through the night to help out.

Thinking about you and everyone else that was effected. When you get a chance to, check outside please do let us know. I know how terribly scary the whole situation was for you and others.

    Big hugs and blessings,

By the way i am over here by tallahassee and could feel the affects in my body worse than fay. We got 27 inches of rain in 2 days. I got married in pascagoula ms. Shipyard husband was working at. Then went Gulfport for honeymoon.
Whoopee. Love Biloxi been many times went back to the place we had our honeymoon and it was gone from Katrina.
I know all there area well it is like here the oak trees and the moss. The casinos are the all back and up?
Dont tell my husband he is the one that cant go i give him 200.00 he begs for more. NOPE
that area in the south is so much what i am use to it is so beautiful. All those beautiful old big homes some of them totally gone.
I am so glad you are ok i saw they had tornado's in pensacola this morning. Frigging Hannah now i am right on that ga fl line 2 and half hours inland from Jacksonville straight up from Apalachicola fl. about an hour if that.
