Finally had my appt. w/ an Endocrin. today and I was so pleasantly surprised at the way he treated me and his willingness to go after what is going on with me that I had to come here and share! He was pretty appalled that my primary has not run any kind of screening tests on me since 1996. He told me that with the symptoms I have been having he (my primary) should have sent me to a neuro; I never did admit to him that I had to ask my primary for a referral to him for these adrenal/thyroid symptoms! I am not posting to gloat as I know many are having such an awful time w/ docs, I am posting so any and all that are discouraged can know that continued hope and perseverance is NOT in vain.
I have suffered for years on my own with no help from any of the inadept doctors I had seen. Thanks to Madwolf, AC, Sujay and all the great members here I cont. to believe that I deserved better medical care and I think that I am now finding it :) love to all, Rebel

That doctor must be one in a million. If you go to see a Neuro I wish you luck. I think they are the worst of them all. Good luck.

I also think they are the worse ones, that would be why I am dragging my feet :(. Not overly anxious, but I agree with this doc today that I can't continue to not find out why my muscles and limbs are giving me such fits (more than Fibro has in last 8 or 9 years). Thank you for the luck :)

So glad you got a positive result from your new Dr's visit. It is great when someone listens. My GP now knows I am going to see the CFS specialist and has given me support as he said he knows I would like my life back and he can't do anymore for me. Just asked me to be careful and use judgment with what he says. That's OK, I would do that anyway. Hope I have a good appointment too. Pleased for you. Love Ozgran.

It just is incredible to have a doc. treat you like a person, talk with you about what is going on and give you options. Almost felt validated, which is really weird that one should have to feel validated in re: to being ill and searching out treatment! Like I said we just have to be persistent I guess. I wish you much success with your new CFS Specialist! love, Rebel

We do not have to accept bad docs. It may take a lot of looking, but there are good docs out there.

It's about time someone has gotten treated appropriately as every person should be. My family doctor of 25+ years told me at my last appointment that he didn't know what to say or do anymore. I don't think he's too concerned either. It's like he's just waiting to retire. I had to ask about my thyroid retesting since my antibody test were so high. He said that he'll check it next time. Whatever. I was just too tired to argue. I feel like he's in a sense given up on me, so it's good to hear that someone's had progress. :) Have a good day.

You are right Mikie, we don't have to put up with lousy treatment from docs. I was nervous before the appt., but I came here and did searches on AC, Madwolf and Sujay and forced myself to believe that there were more docs out there with their ethics and thinking. Now, I will have to do a another search to find a neuro...Ahhhhh. Definitely depending on Divine help on that one! love to all!
