I sure would like to have my life back.
I had a good doctor, for the first time in years I had the proper pain control.
but I lost that doctor, long story, you'd have to read my old post.
anyway, I'm starting all over again and its scarey, right now I go to a methadone clinic because its the only way I can have some pain control.
but I hate going there everyday and I'm still in a lot of pain,

Im from Mass but I live on the North Rheumy is in Boston. His name is Dr. William Pachas. He is getting im not sure how much longer he will be practicing but he hasnt mentioned retirement...but I understand if your looking for a doc, and you need one now it doesnt matter. His phone # is (617) 643-4010. He is only open 3 days a week...Tues, Thurs and Fri. 9-5. He specializes in FM. He is right down the street from the Aquarium if you know where that is. His address is 5 Whittier Place Suite 101 Boston, MA 02114. I do have an appointment with a pain management doc in Stoneham, Ma but that may be out of your way...he treats alot of can see my post in the Good Doc list post that doxy put up...I believe my posting is still the last posting so you can just scroll to the bottom. It gives his info also. He treats alot more than FM.

    Hope this helps!

New Englander nice to hear from you! Was actually thinking about you the other day.

Sorry to hear your still having to go to the methadone clinic. Had hoped you were seeing someone and better since it's been awhile since you posted.

Sorry can't help with that just wanted to say welcome back.
I used to live back in Duxbury.

I am willing to travel if I have too
it may sound like I'm drug seeking but what I am looking for is a doctor who is not afraid to prescribe optoids.
I have done everything possible, but the medication is the only thing that works, it gave me my life back.
the methadone works, i'm in pain, but not the kind that makes me feel so afraid, like how far will this pain go, type of pain. its so horrible, I just wish some of these doc's could understand.

thanks for that info on that doc
and thanks for thinking about me 3g's
    God Bless

I totally understand you being worried about finding a doc that is willing to prescribe opiates...of course you dont sound like a drug seeker! I know for a fact that Dr. Pachas is open to prescribing opiates...Im only 28 so he just isnt on me...the most he'll give me is 10 mg of Vicodin. But Ive talked to many of his patients and he prescribes all opiates. The other doctor... Dr. Anil Kumar in Stoneham, he is a pain specialist and anesthesiologist and he states on his website that he one of his treatment methods is with opiates. Just so you know.

    Good Luck!

Both Docs are still accepting patients...although Dr. Pachas will be getting rid of 1 more day...I believe he is getting rid of Fridays (almost sure) if not Fridays then it was Thursdays...but he'll definitely be opened on Tuesdays. He is cutting back to 2 days a week because he does other things with hospitals and such. He can get a little booked at times but he ALWAYS gets cancellations so you can often ask the secretary if there is a certain day...(although sometimes she might just fit you in...the secretaries are very nice) but if not you can ask if you can call on the day you wanted to come in when they open to see if there are any cancellations...I do it all the time! Sometimes i have to switch my appointments because it is hard for me to get into Boston and usually there will be some cancellations that are available.

Dr. Kumar on the other hand seems to have a wide open schedule...when i booked my first appointment it seemed like i basically had my choice. And they could get me in quick. But I still havent seen him but ive heard alot of good things about him and his facility. Incase you didnt see that i can visit Dr. Kumar's website. I know we are not allowed to post sites on threads but i posted his website on doxy's Good Dr. List...I one of the last posts so all you have to do is scroll all the way to the very end of the thread to find my post. But ill leave it here just incase. Maybe it will stay...maybe they will take it off...but im just helping you not advertising...ive never even been to him yet. But good luck with whatever and whomever you choose!

    Take care!

have you tried the Marino Center in Cambridge and in Wellesley? they have good docs who help with cfs and fibro.

also, dr. jeanne hubbuch in newton. you have to pay out of pocket for her. but she is very good.

dr. englander--she may be in framingham. also very good. used to share the practice with hubbuch many years ago.

in brookline, a rheum-- Dr. Kantrowitz.
