I had the IGENEX test done, but I'm pretty convinced that my doctor (he's a generalist) doesn't know the first thing about interpreting the results. He basically told me that he didn't think that I had enough positive bars to be considered a positive diagnosis.

Can anyone recommend to me a good LLMD in central Florida (Orlando area)who is better qualified to interpret the test results? By the way, what does LLMD stand for? I know it's a Lyme specialist, but I don't know what the acronym stands for.

    Thanks,
    Chaps

Hi Chaps, LLMD stands for Lyme Literate Medical Doctor.

Lymenet is a good site to get a list of LLMDs in your area. The site also has a message board where you can ask for LLMD recommendations. You should also post your Igenex results on there (and on here too) because there are a lot of really informed lymies who can help you interpret your results.

I knew my internist would have idea what to make of my Igenex results, so posted mine and got a lot of feedback.

You can also call Igenex and ask the doctor who owns the lab to help intrepret your results. His name is Nick Harris and I found him really helpful. He may be able to help you determine if seeing an LLMD makes sense for you.

    Good luck!

Great, thanks for the advice. I'll be picking up my results from the doctor tomorrow.

    Hi Chaps...

I noticed your post about picking up your lab results. Just wondering what you found out, and also if you consulted with an LLMD as even the CDC points out it needs to be a clinical dx, not one based solely on blood tests.

    Hope you're doing ok!
