I have posted on my body aches, sinus symptoms etc. Still feeling miserable after seeing the immunologist so went to see my PA today. She does seem to understand CFS/FM and will listen.

So, I go in with my list, and start pouring my heart out to her. She was very good to listen and address my issues.

She checks me, says I have a lot of mucus and that my sinus infection hasn't cleared up. She then tells me that all this goes hand in hand with CFS as to why, she doesn't have an answer except our immune system is all out of wack.

When we with CFS, get an infection it is so much harder on us than the "normals". She also said I was trying to do to much and under to much stress, which of course isn't good for our poor immune systems.

She ordered a lot of labs, complete blood work up, thyroid, cortisol. When she gets all these back then I will start on Vit. D3 by Rx and she hopes that will help.

For now, I am to take 14 days of antibiotics, mucinex, multiple vitamin, probiotic, antihistimine, xanax and plenty of rest and no stress. I ask what Island was she sending me to.

She did reassure me, which helped with the anxiety.

Now, waiting on my labs and will try to follow her instructions to cut back on stress and to do less while keeping the greatgrans.

    Thanks and God Bless,
    greatgran

I have found that the PAs I have dealt with have been highly professional.

My daughter has sinus infections and they can be awful to get rid of and miserable to deal with.

Any health official who takes the time to reassure a patient, is tops in my book.

Take care of yourself and hope you get to feeling well soon.

I am so happy to hear you finally found someone to listen to you and help you. Now maybe you could send her to South bend Indiana and then we can send her on from here. Just joking but very happy for you. Good luck

    Thanks for your replies.

GA, I agree with you on the PA's, she is going for her MD but is very interested in CFS and has been more help to me than any specialist I have seen. Just to have someone to listen and believe you. She went to a Medical Seminar in Texas on CFS and brought me back some info. Other than me she only has three CFS pts. Her sister has fibro so that helps.

Amy, can't send her to South Bend,IN I have found her and can't let her go. By the way I flew into South Bend several years back. My husband was in a bad accident in Goshen, later taken to Elkhart hospital was in ICU . The doctors said there was no hope but a miracle happened and he is doing well, other than the loss of one eye and some aches and pains from boken bones he is doing well.

    Thanks and God Bless,

a dentist I'm seeing discovered I had a cracked tooth when doing a deep cleaning. He had to pull it and surprise....gone is the sinus troubles.

One thing I can highly recommend is a sinus rinse kit. About $l0 at the drug store. It's a special bottle that fits inside the nose opening, and comes with prepared packs of salt and baking soda. You could try doing it yourself if you have a baby syringe. Basically the warm salt water goes up one nostril and out the other.

Nasal lavage can help for infections and allergies.

One of my primary symptoms was sinus infections which would not clear.

We finally did B lymphocyte subclass testing and discovered that I do not make adequate B subclass white cells, and I learned that I have primary immunodeficiency. Since you mentioned an immunologist, my FM/CFS doctor has tested several of us with these symptoms and discovered several of us have primary immunodeficiencies, of which there are about 100 different types.

Hooray! I'm so glad you got good care!

She sounds a lot like my nurse practitioner!

That is pretty much what I thought a good medical person would tell you. You probably have a lot of gunky fluid making you feel off balance and icky. I got sick with colds sinus infections a LOT when my body was sick with CFIDS! I had only gotten one other sinus infection in my previous 21 years of life, but BOOM, body gets CFIDS and hello massive pressure and congestion!

Second round of HOORAY for a good appt. It's tough but you do need to rest and have down time to recoop. I always HATED doing that to support my body, but it usually always paid off.

I just sent in a cortisol saliva test too! And I was low on D and my thyroid is also being investigated ... I think we have similar bodies/illness types :)

    Hi greatgran,
I'm not sure but are you from southwest Virginia? I posted a topic looking for good doctors in this area but not having much luck.

When I first got sick, I got brutal sinus infections.

I had endoscopic sinus surgery which worked wonders for me.

Yes, I am from a small town in southwest VA. Our doctors are the pits. The PA I see is not a CFS doctor she just believes it is real and from the way she talks she does research as much as she can.

Where are you from ? If you are interested in seeing her I will help you get in. She is just a PA, not a MD or any specialist.

I have found her most helpful, maybe its just because she will listen.

with getting rid of that sinus infection. I have had an infection for the past 3 months. It's still running and making me cough despite all the various efforts to stop it. Drives you mad, doesn't it? TN

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have tried the sinus rinse, but have trouble with it draining from one nostril to another. It goes down my throat. Now it will drain from my left nostril but not my right.

I use the baby bulb with water and salt. I also use Natural saline nasal spray daily.

I honestly think smells has a lot to do with it. I went to the salon Wed. to get a hair trim came home and it seem the sinus or whatever issue seem to start all over, on top of that had what I think was a panic attack or a bad "spell of some kind.

MCS seem to cause a panic affect with me. once again not sure what happened.

I do feel some better but have been taking it easy all week.

    Thanks,
