Can anyone here recommend a good, small grinder for flax seed? I have heard that both a small coffee grinder will work, and did I also hear that a pepper mill can work for this purpose?

Does anyone here have any suggestions? I know that there are folks here who grind use flax seed every day, so I figured I'd ask the experts!

    Thanks in advance...

I bought a Black & Decker coffee grinder from Wal Mart for about $10. It works great.

I buy bulk flax seed at $1.50/lb from Whole Foods or Wild Oats, and store it in the freezer. It's much cheaper in bulk than the packaged stuff.

Once a week, I grind up a week's worth in the coffee grinder and also store the ground flax in the freezer.

I don't use the coffee grinder for anything but the flax. I use a cheap 49 cent 1" paint brush to clean out the grinder.

It's been a very good system for me.
