Hello every1. First vist to this site. Was wondering if any of u have tried or are trying the Guaifenesin? I am supposed to be on it but I keep forgetting to take it. What do you think of it?

You have to do much more than just "take it". I plan to start the protocol soon. Do a search for guaidoc and read up on it there. I suggest you read the book by Dr. Amand before delving into this protocol, as you need to put forth a concerted effort if you plan on seeing any benefit. You must avoid certain topicals and supplements to get the beneficial effects of the guai.

I have started back on it today but I just wondered what anyone else thought of it. This is my 3rd trial! I have had between 20 and 60 injections in my skin for 12 weeks, that was a clinical trial and was asprin based, when that didn't work I was asked if I would have them done IN my muscles for 12 weeks. The Specialist stopped that because my muscles "crunched"!! He then asked me if I wouldn't mind doing the Guai. I did 7 weeks then fractured my foot!! I was in agony so that hampered the clinical trial, I had to stop. I have had quite a few bad months this year and there hasn't been an ideal time to start, but, I'm on it now. By the way I don't get paid for being a guinea pig, I am willing to try what they throw at me because anything is better than nothing!!

hello, glad you are doing well on the guai. DO you think I can start the protocol without the mapping, as I do not have any pain associated with my fatigue.

I am using it on directions from my specialist and don't know what the rules and regulations are about it!!! The English are quite a lot behind the Americans in this field!! My family GPs didn't know what it was until I told them it's an ingredient in Cough Medicine!!! My GPs don't know a lot about FMS. It took me 8 yrs to get someone to believe the symtoms weren't in my head!! Like I said, I will try anything to eleviate the agony!!!

I've been on the Guai 4 1/2 years and my symptoms of FMS are about 90 percent reversed. I'm not well because I also have CFIDS, but the Guai has been a God send to me.

Do a title search on Guai and you can read our old posts on it.

    Love, Mikie

You can do the protocol without the mapping; I cannot find anyone near me in the UK to do it. Claudia recommends that you keep a careful symptom diary if you cannot be mapped.

It is absolutely essential to follow the book. I don't yet know if the protocol will work, & it's not easy, but I think it worth trying.
