I researched Provigil and gave the info to my doc and began a trial yesterday. You can find some good info on the web; I printed hardcopy for my GP (I am on TexasHealthNetwork-Star, and your GP oversees ALL your care, with the assist, of specialists.).

http://www.remedyfind.com has some good feedback on this type of med. It is not in the same family as the amphetamines...I wish I could put my finger on a copy I had of the synopsis of the abstract I ran off, but it works for narcoleptics and Excessive Daytime Sleepiness or EDS or some such name...I think that is it though.

It does not require a triplicate which is a plus! My doc was not familiar with it but said he would prescribe it
before I even got the info to him as he knows my biggest gripe is daytime drowsiness. So anyway yesterday when I saw him he called the pharmacist (I had already called the pharmacists to get more info myself before going in and knew the strengths et al.) to learn how to prescribe i.e. begin w/100mg. then go to 200mg. et al. From what I read you can sleep or whatever while taking it but if you need alertness et al. you snap to and are alert!

Let me know how your trial goes. I tried Ritalin but found it ultimately left me feeling depressed. Good luck. Lil'

As I said it is in a class something like

Hi,I just started taking provigil last week 200mg.a day.I can not beleive the difference my brain felt awake for the first time in a long time.I felt like a little bit of me was finally coming back.I was feeling a little guilty loving this drug so much.I have cfs and a little fibro still bedridden but provigil has given me energy but my body has not caught up yet.Good thing because I would have been jogging...........I just hope it lasts.
