    Hi there
I have severe knee problems in my left leg. I use a cane on my left side and have been for about 4 months right now waiting for MRI and specialists.

My left arm has been sore for about a month now and has been progressively getting worse. I can barely lift anything now with my left arm.

Has anyone else experienced this, and could it be a side effect from using the cane ? Any suggestions on how to get rid of the pain ?

I use an electric scooter. I also have a walker and a cane for around the home.

It's time to speak with your specialist/doctor as it may appear you are using the cane incorrectly and perhaps it also may not be at the proper height for you. If you got the cane through an orthopedic prescription, they would have measured you and shown you how to use it properly and on which side.

Below is information from a site that indicates you should be using the cane on the opposite side you are using it now. If you cannot do that, your doctor may have to arrange for you to use something else. But you should see your doctor to tell him what you are doing and how bad things have gotten.

Here is from the site below:

    "Proper Positioning (Cane)
The top of your cane should reach to the crease in your wrist when you stand up straight. Your elbow should bend a bit when you hold your cane. Hold the cane in the hand opposite the side that needs support."

Good luck and I hope things work out well. Many hugs.
