Has anyone had success with this electrical stimulation unit that shocks the nerves and reduces pain. This was suggestion by our physician. Any comments would be helpful!

    Hi,

Yes I too have found TENS work with back/neck pain. Definitely recommend it.

I have used a TENS unit successfully for lower back pain. I also use an IF ('interferential', I think it is) unit for my carpal tunnel and wrist tendinitis pain. The IF is similar to TENS, but uses a different frequenscy. It pulls excess fluid out of the tissues and helps decrease the pain also. I use it pretty much daily on my hands/wrists, and find it very helpful.

I've never gotten a headache from using the TENS unit, by the way.

    Hope it helps you!
    Beth.

some company came out to my pain specialists office and asked for names of his more severe patients who
might benefit. His nurse called and
asked if I'd try it so I did. I hated
the feel of it and within 10 minutes
of getting off the machine I'd go into severe muscle spasms. I know it
works well for some, but it made me
    worse. Hugs, Bambi

Yes, I have used one off & on..Mine was orginally prescribed for low back pain from disc herniation..I think it did help me..The only problem I had was the patches sometimes made me sore..When I first started using one in about 1988, patches were different then, and it really made my skin irritated, not like the ones today..
Yes, they can be a pain to work with, but it did do me some good..
    Give it a try.........
