Has anyone visiting this board or anyone
regular to this board been cured of CFS
or FM by the antibiotic treatments? If there are up to 10,000,000 of us with FM
there should be quite a number cured if
this is the answer. I can't seem to find
anyone so far among people I know. Just
    asking...because I have been considering
    going on the treatment. Hugs,Bambi

    There are many in remission.
ABX treatment isn't a cure but has helped many.

Mycoplasmas may be just a co-factor or infection of opportunity in FSM and/or CFIDS. Clearing up the mycoplasma infection is most likely not a cure for anything except mycoplasma infection. On the other hand, the ABX treatment has certainly helped many, including me, with our symptoms. I am now tapering off the Doxycycline as I was able to cycle off the drug for two weeks without my symptoms' returning. I no longer suffer from migraine-type headaches, IBS, low-grade temperatures, chronic sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes.

I have both FMS and CFIDS. I am using the Guai treatment for the FMS and the ABX for the CFIDS symptoms. I take Klonopin to help me sleep and diminish my anxiety/panic attacks, sensory overload, and tinnitus. Am I cured? No. Am I much, much, much, much, better? Yes! I believe that without clearing up the mycoplasma infection, healing would have been impossible.

My illnesses were triggered by a mycoplasma infection twelve years ago. I believe there can be many triggers in people who are genetically predisposed. I do not believe that infections are "the cause" of our illnesses, but they can certainly be co-factors and cause us to be sicker than we would be. Perhpas this is why there appear to be people with "light" cases of FMS.

    Love, Mikie

I am so happy you are feeling less of
the symptoms! I hope it continues to
lead you down the path to a permanent
remission. I've had ONE what seemed
like a remission for almost two weeks
once, but came back from it worse. I
read another article on here last night that was knocking Nicolson's
results, but to each their own. I asked because from Nicolson's site I
got the impression, at least, that he
and his family had been cured or at
least put into a seemingly endless
remission. I just wondered if it had
worked so well for others as it has
apparently for him and his family. Thanks again. Hugs, Bambi

remissions and improvement are possible. I know of some.
