... what do you think about it? Have you tried it? Have you seen positive results?

My mother-in-law has FMS, and possibly CFS as well, and she has been trying Dr. Teitelbaum's protocol from his book "From Fatigued to Fantastic." What do you think of this book/protocol?

I have tried soooo many things that I'm very skeptical, and I don't want to get my hopes up. My m.i.l. said that this protocol has helped her to feel about 80% better.

I'm going to give it a try. I just wanted to know your opinion and experience with it.

    Hi Debbie!

Oh yeah, Dr. Teitelbaum's book is like the basics of CFS treatment. Years ago I went through his book and tried everything that sounded like it might be appropriate for me. Lots of old timers on this forum have done that.

It feels to me like a person needs to at least get her vitamins and minerals and hormones and antioxidants and sleep remedies all figured out, and then she can go on to try some of the latest and more experimental treatments.

    That's my perspective on it!

I'm happy for your mother in law!

Dr. Teitelbaum's protocol is basically what has guided my selection of supplements. Highly recommended! Glad to know you MIL is feeling 80% better - that's wonderful!

Missed you last Tuesday... we had a couple of new folks in the group. I brought a handout on relaxation techniques; I'll bring one for you next time.

I wrote a response yesterday, but I lost it somehow, and couldn't re-write it until now...

The one thing my M.I.L. didn't include with the book and supplements was D ribose - her health food store didn't have any when she went. I think I'd better wait until I get the D ribose before I start taking the other supplements; I think taking them all together will give the greatest benefit.

Lee Ann, it was so nice bumping into you at the store the other day! You look great!

I'm wiped out, it's late at night (or early in the morning), so I'd better sign off before I start babbling!

    Love and prayers for all!

    Hi Debbie,

I order my D-ribose online from vitacost. I've shopped quite a few sites and they have the best price I've seen(unfortunately it's still fairly expensive).

FWIW, I feel that of all the supplements I take, D-ribose has helped the most, esp. with muscle fatigue and soreness.

It was good seeing you too! It was good to see you smile. :)

I have to admit I probably looked better than I felt, lol. Have to keep up appearances for work. Most of the time on weeknights all I do is come home and lie down.

Good luck with the Teitelbaum protocol, keep us posted on how you do!

    Hi Debbie,

I read Teitelbaum's book and went everywhere with it like it was the bible!! lol

I even communicated with him via email once. He was very nice.

I basically tried his protocol with my other specialists. Some treatments like the vitamin/mineral drips were helpful, but for him to claim that so many will go into remission or be "cured" is far-fetched. Just my opinion.

And as for him having M.E./CFIDS/CFS and still working...make me wonder.

I am, however, happy to hear about your MIL's improvements!

It's worth trying...does have some good information and is easy to read...
