Just wondering what the wait was to get your award letter after your hearing?

My hearing was 8/13/09. Have waited 7 1/2 years.

you may want to post this at the Disability board.

This would be an interesting topic over there.

    i don't think i've ever heard anyone waiting 7 1/2 Years ?????

As I understand your post, you have been trying to get Disability benefits for 7 1/2 years, not waiting for your approval letter for that length of time.

I think I got my approval letter about 4-6 weeks after the decision was made; I didn't know I had been approved until I received it, so I wasn't waiting on pins and needles.

Did the ALJ tell you at the time of your hearing that he/she was approving your claim? Most ALJs that I have heard of don't announce their decisions at the hearing, esp. if they know they are going to be denying the claim. They don't want to put up with the applicant's reaction to being denied.
