I began having pain in my left heel about 4 months ago. It is getting worse. Sometimes, it hurts so bad when I get up and walk that I will try, which is difficult, to walk with the upper part of my foot but that causes a lot of pain/pressure in the calf of my leg. Has anyone experienced this kind of pain? I have not told my Dr. about this but maybe I should?

    Thanks to everyone,

my pain is in my whole foot. Have you tried the shoes called "crocs". They run about 30 dollars a pair and although they haven't eliminated my foot pain it has helped alot. You can buy them on line just do a search.

Heel Pain; Sounds like it could be a Spur( dont know if spelled right:>))It is a build up of calcium on your heel.Hurts like the devil.Makes walking very painfull.
My husband had it.Went to a specialist. Now uses a hard pad in his shoe.Had to have it made just for him.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck!!!

You should see a dr. It sounds like a bone spur.
Or planters faschilitis (sp?) I too let mine go until I
    had to have surgery.
Maybe yours can be treated now and
you won't need surgery. I don't want to scare you, just want to help.
I know the pain you are in, and I sure hope you are
    feeling better soon.

Very painful, somedays I can not stand to let my heels touch the floor.

I just got a pamphlet from a Podiatrist's office called"Heel Pain" - Information and Treatment Options for Heel Spur Syndrome and Plantar Fasciitis.

Sounds just like mine feel. The only way I could describe the pain was that it felt like tendonitis, but worse.

I'm making an appointment to see the Podiatrist to see what it is for sure. My PCP told me I should see a rheumatologist, but I'm going to the foot doctor first.

I hope you can find the right doctor and get some relief very soon.

I had horrible heel pain a few yrs ago. Tried just about everything. Then I found Birkenstocks at the QVC Web. Kindof espensive but they always have some sandals on sale. It took me 6 wks to get used to them. Hated them the whole 6 wks. Then the pain went away and it never came back. Dont know if this will help you but it was the best thing for me. Now, I get the knockoffs from Walmart and they work fine. Still have that 1st pair of Birkys and I still wear them from time to time. I think its the cork sole and the way it molds to your feet.
