I am so sorry you are in this situation. I don't live in that area so I can't help you, but I can keep this bumped. Do you think you could get a refill from whoever has your chart now...or could you go to an ER or Urgent Care and get some help?

I will be watching for you and your progress. It's just so early you well know. I live in California, also. There are several Californians up and posting at this early hour.

    Do take care.

    thanks, Fivesue.

I have just been hitting a wall with the referrals that I pulled off lists. Docs have moved or retired or are only treating holistically. I really appreciate it that you replied and will try to help me keep things moving.
It is great encouragement for me.

i'm here in marin county, and i have kaiser insurance and i'm not impressed too much with them. but it is all i have for insurance at the moment.

so i would reccomend. either calling around to the doctor offices and asking if they treat fms/cfs, asking friends if they know if anyone has fms and if they could get or give your number to get the doctor's name. maybe you you could call one of the hospitals and ask if they have any doctors they could reccomend. how about standford medical?

just makeing some suggestions. and you could always go to e.r.,

hug to you here in novat,

    Thanks for the input Novato.
Also, sorry to hear that you have Kaiser :)

I used to have a small network of folks in my area with Fibro, but they have all moved from the area. It is really hard for me to believe that in the stress filled Silicon Valley there are not loads of folks suffering and someone has to be treating them. I drove to Hayward for my last doctor - but he was worth it.

    hugs back to you all

My pain specialist is located in Torrance, CA. I know it is not near you, but he has patients come from all over the US. His name is Dr. Rick Chavez. (I have his permission to post info about him here).

He is the head of the pain institute at Little Company of Mary Hospital. He truly understands fibro patients and does know how to treat the pain. He does believe in opiates and also uses a combination of many things to help - my mother is using the Lortab, Lidoderm pain patches, prednisone, Neurontin, Darvon, (not all at the same time) - she has degenerative disk disease and gets very bad pain.

    Below is info on him...

The Medical Director will carefully review patient history, medical records and prior treatments to evaluate the areas of concern in each individual situation.
