The other night, as my cousin was driving home from work (He plays in a band) , he suddenly felt discomfort on the right side of the face, around the hinge of the jaw (Not the neck). When he got home he saw tht his jaw was all swollen. He had a headache and flu symptoms. That was a couple of days ago, and, though the swelling is sown some, he still has the flu symptoms. He doesn't think it is bad enough to go to the doceor. Does anyone have a clue as to what this could be? I first thought of a stroke, but wouldn't that be on the left? And would there be flu symptoms? I would appreciate any help you can give me, or any responses. Thanks, Terry

Could be some type of mumps. Or, could be the flu or a cold and the swelling was lymph nodes.
I wouldn't be too alrmed unless the swelling persists, there is gigh fever or the symptoms do not get better.
(A bad tooth or abcess could cause trouble like this too.)
